Russian, Indian, Chinese FMs to discuss possibilities for cooperation in Beijing

MOSCOW, January 26. /TASS/. The foreign ministers of Russia, India and China (RIC) will discuss possibilities for cooperation between the two countries in Beijing, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told TASS on Monday.
“RIC is a promising format. The nearest meeting of the foreign ministers will be held in Beijing on February 2 as it was scheduled earlier. We pay much attention to this format. Such meetings are held regularly and this is a good possibility for the three world countries to regularly synchronize positions on key international and regional issues and coordinate the countries’ foreign political efforts,” Morgulov said.
Russia initiated the creation of RIC in 1998. The foreign ministers of three countries started working within this format on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York in 2003-2005 and at the ministerial Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in October 2004.
At the moment, the three countries cooperate in five directions — the formation of knowledge database, industry and trade, agriculture, the elimination of consequences of natural disasters and healthcare.
